Job description
MYP -DP Spanish Language B Teacher
Interested in Joining Our Learning Community at ISL?
Do you believe every learner has unique potential and that education should nurture curiosity, critical thinking and global awareness? Are you passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that help students make sense of the world and their place within it? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
At ISL, teaching is relational, creative and purposeful. Our teachers design engaging learning experiences that encourage inquiry, reflection and connections between learning and students' lives — locally and globally.
Why ISL?
You will join a diverse, caring and forward-thinking international community where:
● Learning is driven by curiosity, compassion and connection;
● Students are encouraged to find their voice, take ownership of their learning and shape their future;
● Educators collaborate, reflect, innovate and grow professionally;
● Every learner is supported to feel known, valued and challenged.
For our language teachers, language learning is about more than vocabulary and grammar. It opens doors to communication, culture and different perspectives, helping learners become confident, open-minded and internationally minded.
What's the Role?
We are seeking two passionate and reflective Spanish Language B Teachers to join our Upper School learning community in Luxembourg.
Working within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), you will help learners develop confidence and proficiency in Spanish through authentic, inquiry- and concept-based learning. You will encourage students to communicate across cultures, explore different perspectives and use language meaningfully.
What will you do?
● Design and facilitate engaging, inquiry- and concept-based Spanish language learning;
● Develop learners' proficiency and confidence in listening, speaking, reading and writing through authentic texts, contexts and experiences;
● Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and innovative learning experiences;
● Prepare learners for MYP and DP assessments, including oral and written components;
● Differentiate learning to respond to varied levels of language proficiency, strengths and learning needs;
● Foster learner agency, voice and ownership, using assessment and feedback to guide progress;
● Build positive relationships and create an inclusive classroom culture that promotes wellbeing and belonging;
● Use digital tools and a Learning Management System effectively to support learning, organisation and collaboration;
● Guide learners to engage with AI critically, ethically and responsibly, using it purposefully to complement their learning;
● Contribute to the pastoral and wider life of the Upper School, including serving as a student advisor and participating in beyond-the-classroom and community activities;
● Collaborate, reflect and contribute actively to your own and the team's professional growth.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and particularly encourage applications from people whose identities and experiences are under-represented in international education.
ISL is committed to safeguarding and prioritising the wellbeing of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
